Frequently Asked Questions

While Registered Psychotherapists are regulated health professions in Ontario, they are not covered under OHIP, OW or ODSP. The majority of extended health benefits, however, do cover psychotherapy. We encourage you to speak with your insurance provider about services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist to determine your eligibility and approved rates of coverage. We will provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance provider.

We all experience periods in our lives where we can use some help. Therapy can help you to process your experiences and feelings, learn new skills and also help you gain a fresh perspective in order to better navigate life transitions and challenges.

All of our services are easily accessible through online video or phone sessions.

Many people see social workers as those who work only with non-profit organizations or with marginalized communities to aid in case management, program development, employment counselling and more. Social work is a diverse field and social workers who decide to pursue a Master’s in social work are able to practice the controlled act of psychotherapy. Similarly to Registered psychotherapists, they are overseen by a governing college and are expected to engage in ongoing competency training to maintain and develop their skills. The main difference comes down to each practitioner’s specific skill set, and which your practitioners may be covered by your employee benefits.
